This is the race car that I grew
up with watching my Dad and
Brother race. Dad brought it
home from the junk yard one day
and said, "We are going to start
racing at the track, I am tired
of just watching."
The car had a 340 cu. in. "Baby
Hemi" engine that would cover
the 1/8th mile on average with a
7.70 at 92 mph.
Dad (Larry Rowe) was points
champion for three years at New
Bern Drag Strip running in the
Footbrake class, 1987 through
1989.
Many, many memories come to mind
looking at this photo... Let's
just say I miss it and thank
goodness I could tell all my
friends at school, "My daddy is
faster than your daddy"!
